Wrap Up: Zoella Book Club

I have to give props to Zoe, she picked out a pretty great book club list. I didn't like all of the books on the list by any means, but I was impressed with the selection of books that she picked out.

I only haven't read ONE of these books, but I would totally read it if I could! Beautiful Broken Pieces is not at any library in my state. There are like a hundred websites listed on this page, and not one of them have a copy of Sara Barnard's book. I've heard some good things about it, so I was shocked when no one had a copy. So I will not be reading this book. I have no means or funds of getting it. I'm calling it.

I have read every other book though, which I'm super proud of. I've completed two reading lists so far! It makes me feel good because I never thought I could give myself reading goals.

Instead of this just being a boring wrap-up, I wanted you to have as much fun as I did while reading these books so I thought I'd make an experience list of fun facts that I ran into while reading these books, so without further ado, here we go!

My Experiences Whilst Participating in the 2016 #ZoellaBookClub

The Potion Diaries by Amy Alward is actually titled "Madly" in the US/Canada

I couldn't find this book anywhere until I looked it up on Goodreads and noticed "Madly" had the exact same synopsis as "The Potion Diaries." I thought it was going to be another book that I couldn't find but my library actually had it! This was a recent discovery so I'm almost embarrassed at how long it took me to put two and two together. So to all you people that are wanting to read The Potion Diaries, but live in the US, it's called Madly. But I was on Alward's website the other day, and she said Madly was going to be re-released in paperback form titled "The Potion Diaries" in the US/Canada later this fall!

I got three other people to read Everything, Everything after I finished it

This was such an amazing book that I got my friend and her mom to read it! And they had the exact same reaction when I did. (Don't skip to the black page!)

I couldn't find a physical copy of The Sky is Everywhere so I got it in the form of a Playaway and listened to it on the drive home from Florida

I guess this was a major release when it was published, but I'd never heard of it and I guess none of the libraries had either. They only had a playaway, which actually turned out to be pretty useful. I finished it up on the long drive home from Florida.

I didn't read Fangirl and All the Bright Places this time around

I had previously read these books, some very recently, and didn't feel up for a reread just yet. They're both amazing and I could gush over them for hours, but they are extremely memorable.

I hated We Were Liars

Read my review if you want to know what I'm talking about. I finished it, but I hated it with a passion. I have no clue why it's so popular.

The Sky is Everywhere actually made me laugh

I found it amusing at times which I think might be kind of bad given the plot and all. Some parts I laughed out loud while reading. I wasn't that big of a fan of the plot because I don't like how she was messing around with her dead sister's boyfriend. it was very well written though.

Every book was unique in it's own way. They all dealt with either an important or modern issue, except for Madly which was the only contemporary fantasy book in the bunch. It was a very fun experience, participating in the book club, and I deeply enjoyed all of the exclusive content on the WHSmith blog.

I highly recommend all of these books (even We Were Liars) so you can form their own opinions on them. A lot of the authors have new books coming out this fall so I'm actually really excited since I've just become a fan of them.

One last thing, Zoella has mentioned that she will be doing a round two for her bookclub. I literally cannot wait to be introduced to more amazing books! I will definitely be participating :)
