August Wrap Up

Books I Read During the Month of August 2022

How is another month over? I feel like I’m reading more than ever and with so many books coming out in the next few months, stay tuned for some awesome content.

The Poppy War by R.F. Kuang - 5 stars
This one was a hard read for me. It’s really heavy but really good. I’m still on the fence if I want to continue on with the story because there are a lot of trigger warnings, but I do recommend everyone try this.

Blood of the Lotus by Sade Louise - 5 starts
I received an ARC of Blood of the Lotus from the author in exchange for an honest review. I’ve been really into demons lately and this book just scratched the good itch for me. It was original with some great characters and an interesting plot. Definitely check this one out once it releases later this year.

Of Shadow and Moonlight by Luna Laurier - 4 stars
Another ARC I received from the author in exchange for an honest review. I finished this book in the span of a few hours; it was addicting. Had some weak points with the conflict, but overall a good read and I can’t wait to continue. I’m in the author’s Discord and ahhh I need book two now - only surviving via the teasers.

The Book Eaters by Sunyi Dean - 3 stars
Original was the type of books I read this month. The Book Eaters was completely unlike any other book I’ve read before. I didn’t really care for the characters but liked the plot and world-building. I think the story was told beautifully with the mix of past and present. I would love more about the book eaters, but probably wouldn’t pick up another book around these characters.

Love on the Brain by Ali Hazelwood - 5 stars
I loved The Love Hypothesis so had to pick up this one. Has it’s faults which some other creators have touched on, but again, it scratched the good itch for me. It was a nice break from all of the fantasy I’ve been reading, and I liked it more than LH.

Lightlark by Alex Aster - 2 stars
Could have been better but not the worst. Check out my full review for Lightlark

All of Our Demise by Amanda Foody and Christine Lynn Herman - 5 stars
Pure magic. Wonderful. Loved every moment of it. Check out my full review for All of Our Demise
